Ash-colored or Black-cap Hawk

This is a genuine, original, NOT A REPRODUCTION, bookplate # XX, circa 1888, that includes the Ash-Colored or Black-Cap Hawk. This fine, original Chromolithograph book plate came from Jacob H Studer’s Popular Ornithology “The Birds of North America,” illustrated by Theodore Jasper. The plate is in good to very good condition for its age. The broken brown line in the left margin is where the protective tissue paper covering the book plate was attached. This is usually matted out and does not detract from the framed artwork.
